Keys to Revival
Apostle Damian Hinton

Over the years their has been a cry in the land for revival and I believe that revival is coming to America. There is a move of God coming to the nations that is going to awaken a generation of Jairus' daughters to arise from their slumber and experience the love, favor, and grace of God in ways that we have not experienced in generations. This season is gong to produce some of the greatest outpourings of the Holy Spirit and a release that will transition the body of Christ.

What is Revival?

The following are definitions of revival:

  • "God's quickening visitation of his people, touching their hearts and deepening his work of grace in their lives." J. I. Packer
  • "extraordinary season of religious interest." Robert Baird
  • "the sovereign act of God, in which He restores His own backsliding people to repentance, faith and obedience." Stephen Olford
  • "times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." (Acts 3:19) J. Edwin Orr
  • "the awakening or quickening of God's people to their true nature and purpose." Robert Coleman
  • "the return of the Church from her backslidings, and the conversion of sinners." Charles Finney
  • "an extraordinary movement of the Holy Spirit producing extraordinary results." Richard Owen Roberts
  • "a community saturated with God" Duncan Campbell
  • "the work of the Holy Spirit in restoring the people of God to a more vital spiritual life, witness, and work by prayer and the Word after repentance in crisis for their spiritual decline." Earle Cairns

Revival is when the breath of God (Holy Spirit) enters the hearts of men and transformations in individuals, families, and cities take place. Like  Jairus' daughter (Luke 8:55) we wakeup wanting to be nourished and ready to live. While there are revivals happening all over the world, this will be a time where we will see great revivals breaking out throughout the Body of Christ

Signs of Revival

When revival comes there are some very definite signs that revival has come:

  1. A greater sensitivity to the Word of God
  2. A greater openness to the moving of the Holy Spirit
  3. A manifestation of authentic repentance
  4. A greater outflow of love for God and others

Cultivating an Atmosphere for Revival

Let me first say this: we cannot start a revival. Revivals are by nature spontaneous responses to the presence of God. However, I believe with all my heart and mind that we can cultivate an environment for revival.

A greater commitment to worship God and the tearing down of false idols in our lives.
  • Find the areas in your life where God is not being honored.
  • Reposition or remove anything that would impede your complete surrender to God.
  • Honor God with every part of your being (mind, heart, emotions, and body).
  • Be verbally expressive and bold about your love for God.
  • Be more committed to your prayer life.
  • Be bold and passionate in your prayer life.
  • Declare the gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness.

I am convinced as we cultivate an environment we will see the Glory of God and experience revival first in our hearts, then in our cities, and in our nation.
